Anna’s Hummingbird on a Wire!

A nice way to close the day: I spotted an Anna’s hummingbird zipping through my backyard garden, amongst the fruit trees, and very briefly landing on telephone wire! It is a bit difficult to see, but if you click on the image, you will see its needle-like bill oriented to the left. Now THAT is a bill that I wholeheartedly support!

I am very pleased that my backyard garden is often frequented by Anna’s hummingbirds. Apparently, they are very happy customers!

I am an avid birdwatcher and when I do not have a chance to go to my usual bird-laden haunts, I just look outside my window. It helps to have a camera nearby (and quick reflexes) to capture this sweet moment in time!
