Phalaenopsis Orchid: Circle of Life

I have been the caretaker of this gorgeous indoor orchid for nearly three months. As indicated in the title of this post, this plant is an exemplar of the circle of life. This plant has  live, lush flowers, but also an emerging flower bud (!) and a flower that is fading out.

Each of these flowers has brought so much joy to my home that I felt it right to let the plant decide when it is time to let this spent flower go. Truly lovely.
