African Iris: First Flower!

Just shy of one month since this plant was rescued from the bargain bin at Lowe’s, this African iris has debuted a flower, still tightly wound, just waiting to impress!

I am always gratified to see that the potential that I suspect in a rescued plant is finally manifested in such lovely ways.

I always see photos of these flowers in their full glory, but I think that, pre-bloom, it is quite pretty as well. You can see the colors that are ready to bust out at any time. I can’t wait to see how it looks tomorrow!

The other rescued  African iris plant is not yet in flower, but perhaps it will not be long. Such a sweet development!
