Apple Tree Gets New Support!

I put in an additional stake next to my apple tree sapling this afternoon. Because fruits are only growing on one side of the tree (a mighty 4, yay! – 3 additional tiny new fruits have emerged), it started to lean to one side. It already had one stake, so the new stake will further help it to grow straight up. Check out the photo of the 2 larger fruits and the new apple blossoms coming in – a harbinger of more fruit on the way!

Earlier in the week, a fifth apple, which looked good, was found on the ground. I don’t know if it spontaneously fell off or helped off the branch via wind or bird.

I’m eating it right now – it’s a little tart – perfect for pies and applesauce if the more mature fruits are also this way…and I love, love, love homemade apple pies and apple sauce!

CONSUMER ALERT UPDATE:  Apple seeds are highly toxic if ingested. More information on toxic plants can be found here:
