Mourning Dove, Visiting

Amidst the chaos of my fading weeds is this beautiful mourning dove.  I took this photo from behind a bedroom window and its been here for at least 30 minutes, enjoying my garden. Mourning doves are regular visitors to my garden.img_1515

Though this bird may seem common, it is a most welcome visitor to my garden. Its soft cooing is a wonderfully soothing song, especially while weeding! Click on the photo to see a more detailed view of this sweet-looking and sweet-sounding bird.

Notice the blue eye ring. Oftentimes, birds (and other wildlife) will move just when you’re about to take a photo, resulting in blurred images. Not this bird – it’s as though this bird struck a pose just for me!
