Tomatoes From Side Shoot!

I am happy to report that the tomato side shoot or tomato sucker that I was able to propagate into its Tomatoes from side shootown independent plant is now fruiting! This is really exciting! The tomatoes and the overall plant look very healthy and getting larger each day. Fresh sun-ripened tomatoes from your own vine are the perfect way to welcome the summer!

CONSUMER ALERT UPDATE: The non-fruit parts of tomato plants are poisonous if ingested. More information on toxic plants can be found here:

  1. My tomato plants are going yellow at the bottom halves! They are out in the yard in sun right now, but I am going out to bring them into my screenroom right now! I hope they can make it, and produce even more…but I have a feeling it may be just too darn hot!
My beans started from seeds are looking good along my chain link fence…so far, so good. I am intregued by thinking of vegetable gardening in pots on my screen porch though…sounds awesome!
